Occupational therapy is the art and science of enabling engagement in everyday living, through occupation of enabling people to perform the occupations that foster health and well-being; and of enabling a just and inclusive society so that all people may participate to their potential in the daily occupations of life.
Occupational Therapy addresses the needs and desires of individuals to participate in occupations and activities that are meaningful to their lives. Occupational Therapists work with people of all ages to enable them to live meaningful lives. Our students develop an understanding of the potential people of all ages have to carry out valued daily activities and fulfill their life roles and ambitions in spite of physical, mental or social challenges. They develop knowledge and skills to help them to plan and carry out sessions to permit those they work with to do the many things that make up everyday life such as caring for themselves and others, enjoying leisure activities and working.
